Baltistan Culture and Development Foundation (BCDF), working since 1998 as a non-profit organization registered under companies’ ordinance 1984 and societies act 1861 as an autonomous body. BCDF working with an integrated approach to address poverty issues through cultural human and social development in Baltistan. BCDF has a specific mission to help revitalize cultural heritage resources, and to promote indigenous products and services to provide sustainable socio economic development in Baltistan.

BCDF successfully implemented number of projects e.g. Revival and promotion of cultural products through the Project Baltistan Enterprise Development & Arts Revival Program(BEDAR) funded by Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).BCDF implemented “Baltistan Wool Processing and Fabric Weaving Project’’ focused women Home Based Workers in Baltistan region the basic objective was to utilize the indigenous resource and refine the skills of women through training and product development and design , this project was funded by ILO-International Labor Organization. BCDF extended its interventions with integrated approach and have worked as an Implementing Partner with INP-Insaf Network Pakistan have successfully achieved the objectives of project “Access to Justice” funded by UNDP & UNOPS.BCDF currently implementing project “Apricot Development and Marketing Project (ADAM)” funded by US-aid Small Grants Ambassador’s Fund Program Pakistan the project this women focused project will contribute in the improvement of livelihood status of 2,000 women farmers in the selected targeted area of Baltistan.

BCDF working for the betterment of the society and contributing towards human development and promotion of culture through indigenous resources of the region and have integrated rights based and entrepreneurial approach in developments projects.

Organization’s Outreach and other Partners:

BCDF working in Baltistan division both in rural and urban areas of the region have established strong communication and coordination mechanism in both districts Skardu and Ghanche covered all 7- Tehsil’s and Union Council, have outreach at grass root level with support of LSO’s Local Support Organizations and other welfare as well as enterprise development organizations. BCDF is working with Training Institutes/Organizations like TMCS and BASA in district Skardu and Hamdard welfare society at district Ghanche. BCDF has maintained good working relationship with GLAs-Government Line Agencies and other NGO’s like (AKRSP, AKCSP, NAWARDO, SAF, Aghie Pakistan EVK2CNR and Insaf Network Pakistan) working in the same geographical area. BCDF is also member of Chamber of Trade and Commerce Gilgit Baltistan. BCDF possesses good organizational capacity in terms of logistics, support and Human Resource to carry on development interventions across Gilgit Baltistan.
